Triple Sensor

Powering the most important functions

PRO TREK watches are equipped with the latest Triple Sensor, version 3 technology, making them even more accurate than before. Three highly sensitive, extremely small sensors measure with absolute precision and instantly display changes in your environment. The precision of the digital compass, altimeter, barometer and thermometer is only possible with the Triple Sensor technology. At the same time, the three layer sensor is 95% smaller and consumes 90% less energy than before.
The three layer sensor
The three layer sensor is at the heart of the PRO TREK watch and consists of three mini sensors which precisely measure direction, height, air pressure and temperature. The watch uses this technology to measure and display the changing conditions around you. CASIO successfully developed the innovative technology to progress from the second to the third generation of sensors in 2013.
 
 
  • Altimeter

    Pressure sensor
    The altimeter measures the exact altitude of your current position using data from a highly sensitive air pressure sensor. As soon as the air pressure changes even slightly, the altimeter also registers a change in altitude, so calibrating your PRO TREK is best done at a location where you know the exact altitude. The watch adds up the number of meters climbed — meaning that you can see at a glance just how high you've climbed once you finish your hike.

  • Barometer/thermometer

    Pressure/heat sensor
    In this sensor, a thin silicon layer is stretched over a hollow vacuum container. This layer responds to changes in ambient pressure by expanding or contracting. Resistances measure the changes and convert the values into altitude or air pressure values. The heat sensor reacts to the slightest changes in temperature. These changes will be evaluated by a microprocessor and displayed on the watch in the form of temperature values.

  • Digital compass

    Directional sensor
    A directional sensor determines the direction of magnetic north and the bearing and displays this information in digital form. If you use a map when you are hiking, you can place it next to your PRO TREK, align it accordingly and orient yourself perfectly. The magnetic declination refers to the angle between magnetic north and true north. The angle of declination is primarily determined by the fluctuations in the earth's magnetic field — closer to the poles, the different positions of the geographical and magnetic north are also used. You can switch the display on the watch between magnetic and true north in order to correct your orientation.
